Christmas at Canada Place

We went to Canada Place today as well. They had a giant snow globe there with imitation snow. The girls got to go in and pretend to have a huge snow fight. They had a ball! Then Aja and I went on a simulated ride where we went all across Canada through the air. It was incredibly beautiful and magical!!!

Gingerbread Houses

We checked out the gingerbread houses at the Hyatt Regency today.

Skating

Aja just got some new skates, and all she wants to do is aket now. We have been 3 times in the last 5 days. Today we were in Vancouver so we went to Robson Square, which is always fun- a partially enclosed outdoor rink with Christmas carols.

Cool Carvings

We went on a walk the other day where we saw some really cool carvings.

Christmas Caroling

The girls each invited a couple of friends out the other night to go Christmas caroling. We did this last year and the people whose houses we all went to loved it, so a new tradition was started. This year we decided to ask for donations to our local food bank. The girls got a wagon full of food and $140 for our food bank, which they were very happy to receive.

Dakota Ridge

We went up to the local mountains the other day and it was absolutely magical! We didn't get any snow last year, so we hadn't played in the snow for 2 years. First we went for a cross country ski as a family, and then we went sledding. We're already talking about when we can go up again. The conditions were perfect for skate skiing too- they were honestly some of the best conditions I have seen!

Holiday Hustle

This was our third year of our Christmas tradition of doing the Holiday Hustle run. We have always all done the 2 km run or dance-walk, but this year Sedona and I did the 5 km run. This was her first ever 5 km run, and she did amazing. She didn't stop at all, and we finished in 29 minutes. I felt so happy to be running with her! Even when we had to run around the duck marsh, which was flooded and up to our knees, she said, "This is so much fun!" Tonight when she was going to bed, she thanked me and said how much she loved it.... a proud Mom moment! Chris and Aja also had a great run and in a couple of years, maybe we'll all be doing the 5 km run. It's a holiday tradition I really enjoy!

Volleyball Season

Sedona played on our school volleball team for the first time and loved it! Her team won a trophy at the season end tournament! How fun is that??!!
