Open Up Wide!
Aja had her first solids yesterday at exactly the same age as Sedona (coincidentally)- 5 months and a week. I was going to wait until 6 months but she's been a lot hungrier lately and so interested in food. I can see that this is going to become big sister Sedona's job. I only got to give Aja a couple of bites before Sedona took over. They both enjoyed this first new experience!

Snack Time
Our ritual of attending the local Farmer's Market led us to this watermelon last weekend. The woman we bought it from was so proud of her first grown watermelon- quite the accomplishment here on the coast! Sedona couldn't wait to get home to bite into it, so she snacked on this huge chunk on the way home in the car. Mmm, mmm good!
Grandma Lou's in Town
And that means the girls get lots of extra cuddles, Sedona demolishes grandma Lou's lipstick supply, Chris and I each put on a few pounds from all the great cooking and baking, I get more time to do stuff and household chores that never get done are done (not by me, I may add!) Thanks Grandma Lou for everything!!!!

A Big Night on the Town
Okay, as big as it can get in Sechelt! It was exciting though because it was our first time since Aja was born that we had a babysitter in for both girls besides grandparents and our stand-in grandma (our neighbourMarguerite). We had a lovely dinner at a new restaurant "Spence's on the Coast" which was absoluetly delicious!

Rainbow Connection
Jolly Jumper
This is a popular spot for Aja whenever we're cooking and cleaning the kitchen! It's become just as big of a hit for her as it was for Sedona.
Pine Mushrooms
Sedona loves her fresh Pine mushrooms that were given to us by a neighbour. We have a real community of gardeners/those into local foods in our midst. Pine Mushrooms sell for between $50 and $100 a pound and are a hot commodity in Japan. Our neighbour came upon a large patch on the weekend and had he not given some away, they would have gone to waste. In return, we gave him some carrots, tomatoes, lettuce, onions and lavendar from our garden as well as homemade pesto and jam. We made a Barley Risotto with them tonight- delicious!!!

Mmmm, this thumb tastes good!
Aja has discovered her thumb and loves sucking on it! Sedona, being the "gaga" girl that she is (her name for a soother), never discovered her thumb. This time around, we have opted for the thumb instead of the soother and we'll see where it takes us in orthodontist bills down the road! (Side note: Sedona now chooses Aja's clothes as well many days; hence the giraffes with the stripes!)

Chris blog!!!
Just discovered a cool new website for on-line music listening. It's called www.deezer.com
A French site where you create a simple sign-in and now have access to thousands of songs that you create playlists from. After reading a number of blog reports about deezer, not surprisingly i have learned that the major record companies are trying to shut it down, so enjoy it while you can. It also has a tendancy to be bit slow because it is so popular at the moment. Let me know if you try it, and what you think.

New Employee Nana?
We're thinking Sedona's sense of fashion could earn her a job at her Nana's clothing store. She picks out all her own clothes now, not once, twice, but multiple times a day. As soon as something is a tiny bit wet or dirty, a new outfit is awaiting; she is a clothes hound!!! I especially liked this morning's outfit. Please take note of the accessories: Santa Clause pin, blue and green belt, funky tights and sheepskin slippers.
