Sedona and I have both been part of our school's Mountain Bike club on Thursdays. I coach and she is one of the members. I am amazed at the length of rides we do with kids as young as Sedona- they are troopers! I don't usually get to ride with her because I take a small group of more advanced riders, while she rides with the rest of the group. However, last Thursday, we were treated to a special visit from Holly Feniak, Junior Downhill Mountain Bike Champion, and we all rode together. She used to go to our school and she also babysat our girls, so it was neat to have her there. We went to some local trails where she taught some skills (cornering and going over logs) to the kids. It was a real treat having her on our ride. She also signed all the kids helmets, so they felt pretty cool (and Sedona even got an XO on hers)!! We'll take a break now in the wet weather and resume riding as a club in the spring.
