Centreville on Toronto Island- Day 1 of our Toronto Trip

We rook the subway, a streetcar and a ferry today to get to Centreville on Toronto Island with Nan and P.K. I remember going here in the summer as a kid and loved it. Who doesn't love a good visit to an amusement park?

This is the view from the ferry ride over.

Sedona had to pull the solo mission on the first few rides because Aja was sooooo tired from 3 hours less sleep than usual last night, that she was having none of it. Then...

I brought her to a nice grassy area knowing she needed to sleep, rocked her in my arms for all of 2 minutes and she was asleep. Her power nap did wonders because she woke up and.....

had fun on the rest of the rides.

This is equivalent to Playland in Vancouver which we do every year, so we figure we can cross that one off our list now!

Best Broccoli Ever!

We're pretty excited about this head of broccoli as I think it's the nicest one we've ever grown! Because of the weather, some things have been really slow this year, while others have completely taken off. Our turnips and lettuce were incredible this year as well! We've been trying to eat as much of our own food as possible which is always fun. The other night for Evva's birthday, we had grilled yellow zucchini, fingerling potatoes with mint and a salad with roasted beets and lettuce, all from our garden. The only item we had to buy was the fish, and it was from B.C. This broccoli is going into a broccoli salad tonight.

Anniversary Paddle

Chris and I celebrated our 6th year anniversary by going for a paddle this morning (remember to click to see larger images). We lucked into the best day of the summer so far! Cheers to the man I love- the best one out there!!!

Camping at Porpoise Bay

We have one of the nicest campgrounds I've ever been to right here in Sechelt, 10 minutes from our house. We go every summer with the other "Allens." The day before we went had to be the worst day of the entire summer- it was pouring rain sideways and felt like a day in February! However, the rain cleared up for most of the day that we arrived which was lucky! With picking berries, biking, kayaking, playing at the beach, doing a scavengar hunt (thanks Auntie Ann), having a visit from the grandparents and making SMORES, plenty of fun was had!

Beach Time

We haven't had much of a summer in terms of warm weather, but we had a good day at the beach with the cousins while camping.

Hidden Grove

After the other Allens left the campsite, we broke up the day and went for a hike at a favorite local spot "Hidden Grove."

Jammies at the Beach

The second night we were camping, one of Sedona's best buddies Megan was there with her family too. She has a great older sister as well, and the 4 girls spent the whole time biking all over the campground, kayaking, playing on the beach (including this morning in their jammies) and playing babies.

Tooth #2

This one has been hanging on by a thin thread the last few days. Sedona finally let me pull it out just before she had to go to a birthday party today so she could eat what she wanted!
