A Pleasant Surprise!

We were walking along in Whislter Village when we heard "well hello Allen Family." We turned around to see Chris' aunt and cousin who we had no idea were there. We had a great, albeit short, visit catching up!

Sedona at the Bike Park

Sedona is becoming increasingly confident on her bike. I coach mountain biking on Thursdays and she is part of the group. In the fall, she used to go with the group that did the easier trails. However, for the last few rides, she has come out with my advanced group. I thought she would be turned off by the technical trails and ramps/bridges, but she is so excited about it! So, when we brought her to the bike park in Whislter, she was very excited to try out her new skills!

Aja at the Skate Park

Aja was more interested in running around the skate park than biking. She loved all the ramps and open space!

Our Drive Up!

Every Saturday morning, we go to the Farmer's Market. Even though we caught an early ferry, the girls wanted to stop on our way. One of the things they always get is homemade lollipops. This kept them very quiet for a good portion of our frive to Whistler- a great travel distraction!!!! Then, after our hike, Sedona was tired and laying down on Aja who was stroking her back. Very cute! Oh... and speaking of Farmer's Markets, we stopped at the Squamish one on our way up, and it's amazing. If you're ever in Squamish on a Saturday, check it out!

Train Wreck Hike

We did this cool hike in Whsitler called "Train Wreck." It's a 5 km round trip hike along the Chekamus River and the train tracks. After 2.5 kms, you come to these train cars covered in grafitti in the middle of the forest. A number of years ago, they went off the track and rolled quite a ways. There were 6 cars all together and they are all spread out. They are covered in graffiti and it has also been transformed into a bit of a bike park. It was a pretty cool find- not what you would expect in the middle of the woods!!

Happy Mother's Day!

We had a lovely Mother's Day weekend! We had a very low key weekend in comparison to usual, which I think we all needed. We spent quite a bit of time in the garden. Last night Chris made his famous homemade Halibut fish and chips which we all love! Today I went for a nice trail run with a couple of girlfriends before the 4 of us went for a hike. Then tonight was finished with a great dinner at Chris' Mom's with his family. Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful mothers reading this!!! I hope your day was great too and that you get spoiled every day, not just today.

Mother's Day Tea

Today Aja's class put on a Mother's Day Tea. I was able to get coverage so I could attend. It was lovely!!! The kids made books about their mothers, served us tea with strawberries and ice cream and taught us some fun dances. Aja was so excited when she woke up this morning as she has been asking me all week when the Mother's Day Tea was. The other little girl is one her best buds Teigan.

Our First Swim of the Season

Yesterday the girls and I went down to the beach for our first swim of the season. We were in the backyard for a couple of hours gardening and playing and it was sooo hot, so we decided to brave the cold waters. It was refreshing! Sedona is always the most brave out of all of us and deosn't hesitate just diving right in.
