Happy Halloween!

The day came and went and now we have way TOO MUCH candy! In the past, we've done a pretty small amount of neighbor's houses. However, this time, we did our neighbor's and then went trick or treating with a few of Sedona's friend's from school as well and hit up a lot of houses! This year's costumes were: Aja- a bee witch (she had her bee wings and stinger attached to her witch costume), Sedona- a hippie, Lisa- a superhero and Chris- a jailbird. It was a fun day!

Pumpkin Patch

It was a professional development day on Friday. Chris went to a conference in Vancouver, but because I don't work on Fridays, the girls and I decided to go along for the ride. While Chris was learning about science experiments and outdoor recreation, the girls and I took full advantage of being in Richmond. We dropped Chris off at his workshop and made our first stop at a local Pumpkin Patch. It was pouring rain, but it didn't matter- we had our raincoats and umbrellas and had a blast listening to the band playing, the sing along on the wagon ride out to the patch, and then picking our own pumpkins. Our next stop was an amazing wave pool where we swam for an hour and a half before going to see the movie "Dolphin Tale," which I'd recommend (it's got a similar feel to "Free Willy"- remember that movie)? Then we picked up Chris, went out to a Shanghainese Restaurant (which was espcially fitting as I just finished reading "Shanghai Girls" that night) and spent one more night in town. It's always fun getting a city fix. I never felt I needed to get to the city before having kids, but now I love going into the city with them and doing different things!

Lost Lake Trails

Chris, the girls and I carried on with our fairly new tradition of going to Whistler for Thanksgiving. We really like getting away and spending time as a family. This year we went with Chris' Mom and Bill. My Mom was going to join us as well, but something came up... next year, we hope! Chris and I were lucky enough to get out for a fantastic ride on a gloriously sunny day- it's always fun trying out new trails. I also got to go for a great run on the Lost Lake trails which was a treat, albeit in the pouring rain. Sedona enjoyed herself so much, she actually cried when we left! That's the first time she's ever done that. Chris and I were both saying we remember doing that as kids when we were really sad to see a vacation end. It's a place we all love to visit!
