Happy Birthday Chris!
Hiking with Cousin Ian
Chris' cousin Ian came over to the coast with his girlfriend for a couple of days. The girls adore him! Yesterday, we went for a hike with them and the other Allens. The 4 kids had a great time playing hide and seek in this Arbutus grove at Francis Peninsula Marine Park.
Rasta Girl
As you know, Aja LOVEs dressing up. Evva brought over the rastafarian hair and hat, and Aja found the rest of the outfit to accompany it, including the mole she painted on. She cracks me up! She has a growing collection of heels she gets at the thrift store for dress up purposes!

Christmas Day
We had a wonderful Christmas! Our elf Zippy left a goodbye message in Shreddies. The girls were very excited with their big present- tickets to the Taylor Swift concert this summer, and as you can see, Chris was happy with his GoPro Camera. Chris always spoils me with very clever and well thought out gifts. We got out for a nice walk (beautiful day), had lots of chill time, and then had Christmas dinner here with all of Chris' family. It was a great day!

Newest Trail
We were dogsitting on the weekend and took the dog for a walk on the newest trail built near our house.
Holiday Run
Chris and I got out for a holiday trail run today up in the mountains- it was a great run in the misty rain! I'm happy he's started running too so we can do this together once in a while.
Zippy, the Elf on the Shelf
We got an elf on the shelf the other day. For those of you that don't know about this tradition, we adopt the toy elf into our home at Christmas. At night, when we are all asleep, he does some strange things. He also reports back to santa how we are doing. Our elf Zippy has got into some mischief since we've had him. The first night he tied all the girls' socks from the laundry basket to make a rope swing. The next night, he found the girls' doll's bath, and filled it with min marshmallows, and this morning he was hanging out in a dog dish with a stuffed dog and biscuits! Tomorrow will be our last morning with him before he heads back to the North Pole for the year. The girls are so excited to find him each morning and see what he has done!

Holiday Hustle
Today, we went to the third annual "Holiday Hustle." There is a 2km run, a 2km dance-walk, or a 5 km run. Chris and Sedona did the 2 km run, and for the second year in a row, Sedona came in first! Next year, she'll be ready for the 5 km run. Aja, Evva and I did the dance-walk. The race coordinator pushed a getto-blaster along belting out tunes, while we all dance-walked. It was lots of fun! This is definitely a new Allen Christmas tradition!
Oh Christmas Tree
We went to get our tree yesterday. We went to a local man's Christmas tree farm, and walked around. Aja picked our tree for us, and I think she picked a good one!
Watching Week
We got to watch the glas dance last week. They are both in two classes this year, but one of them is together, which was kind of neat. Sedona is in Modern, and Aja is in Tap. They are both taking Music and Dance, which combines singing and dancing, which i really enjoyed watching!

The girls' "Music and Dance" class performed at 2 different care homes on the weekend. They sang and danced to "Santa Clause is Coming to Town."

Christmas Cookies
Sedona was at a friends' last weekend, and they made all these cookies. Aren't they beautiful?!
Mom and Me Nail Party
Today the gals and I went to a "Mom and I" nail party. The nails are called "Jamberry" and it's like tape. Here's our creations.
Aquarium
Last weekend the girls and I went to the Aquarium while we were in town at the Ortho. I always love the jellyfish!!!
