Cousin Lauren Comes to Visit

Chris' aunt Gina and Cousin Lauren came to visit last weekend. We took Lauren with us to the open house at the local gravel pit- we know how to show a city girl a good time! The girls loved their time with Lauren!!!

Walking to School

The best part of working at the same school as Sedona and Aja is that we can walk and bike to school in the morning. Look what we saw yesterday morning on our way!

First Day of School

 

The girls are so excited about school! Aja LOVES kindergarten and seems older and wiser already after 3 short one hour stints! She has many friends already in the class and has an instant new best bud! Sedona found out who her teacher is today and is thrilled. I love being at the girls' school with them- seeing them in the halls, getting a hug on my supervision duty, walking and biking to school together. It's pretty awesome!

Last week before school started, I took the girls and some friends to Gibsons to a little water park. Wouldn't you know... the ice cream truck pulled up 5 minutes after we arrived? It's a magical sound to the kids and a dreded hum to the adults digging deep in their pockets!

Fresh Halibut Right Off the Boat!

 

 A local Halibut fisherman does a big catch twice a year and sells them from his house. You get to pick the size of fish you want and he filets it right there on the spot. So, we got ourselves 27 pounds of fresh halibut today. We brought it home to Chris who then cut it into smaller pieces and froze it for the year ahead. Just for the "Halibut!"
