Spinach and Mint-Homegrown

Though we've had our fair share of cool/windy/wet weather here in Sechelt, some crops have done just fine. Mint and spinach are two of these. This is a recipe I clipped form the newspaper a couple of years ago. It is a mint-spinach aioli. It comes from famous chef Karen Barnaby. An easy creation that goes with a variety of dinner type foods.

Scooters

The girls and I went to Vancouver the other day and made a pitstop at Toys R Us for a couple of scooters. Sedona has a couple of friends who have them and she's really been wanting one after trying them. She loooooooves it and it's like she's always been riding it. Aja, on the other hand, has tried hers a few times excitedly, but ends up throwing it on the ground and takes off her helmet (oh to be 3!) after a few scoots. Each time though, she gets a few more steps in there, so I'm sure she'll being doing trips around the block with her big sister soon enough!

Happy Father's Day!

We gave Chris his Father's Day gift a day early because we couldn't wait any longer. We bought this hammock chair a month ago (we had to get rid of our old hammock a while ago) and the girls have kept it a secret this entire time! Poor Chris hasn't even had a chance to really enjoy it yet because the girls love it... I think we'll have to get a second one! I'm about to go out on the deck and tuck into my book on it and take in the view. Here's hoping that all you Fathers have a wonderful Father's Day. A big special hug to all the grandpas in our life too (too many to name!!!)

Cupcake Party

My friend Lee had a "cupcake party" the other day and put all of us Moms to shame! What do you think- couldn't Lee and her Mom (who was visiting and helped) go into business? Check out the spaghetti and meatballs version of cupcakes... isn't that the most incredible thing you've seen? (the spaghetti is icing, the meatballs are chocolate macaroons with jam on top). What fun!

These girls were the stars of the show!!!! Sedona led her group on from the right side and is the first one on the left on the stage. They had so much fun in their four performances on the weekend. Thanks Lee for the video!
