No more monkeys jumping on the bed...

An update to all the out-of BCers....

Who check in with us on a weekly basis to see how our El-Climate Changino winter is going. Well, the windstorms, snow and incredible rainfall have finally given way to this. Robin egg sky, not a breath of wind and warm enough to crank open the patio doors at 6227 Oracle....finally!!!!!!!!!!!!

Feeding Frenzy

Sedona loves going to the duck marsch to feed the ducks. Today they greeted us at the car as soon as we arrived.

"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas"

Having an almost two year old around makes getting into the Christmas spirit a lot of fun. Here's Sedona making homemade dough decorations and listening to the music/watching the snow fall in her new Christmas ball by which she is truly mesmerized!

Sedona helping Dad with the Christmas Tree we cut today. Playing in the puddles on the way was the best part.

My mom was visiting from Toronto and took all these shots from our deck... the first three are in the morning and the last one's at night. We are definitely enjoying our view!

More snow day action

A view up an old field down the road from our house.

Here is my first ever snow-shoe commute to work. I had to report to the nearest school to earn my pay, so off to West Sechelt Elem it was.

The picture to the left was taken in a trail that Lisa and I snow-shoed yesterday. Fresh tracks!

New List bird

Though not as stunning as this specimen, I was indeed lucky enough to spot a Long Tailed Duck at Snickett park on Sunday morning while out on a family walk. Long Tailed Ducks lose their tail feathers in the winter, so not quite as stunning. Nonetheless a lucky spotting.

Schweaty Balls

Here is a little pre-holiday treat for all the adults who choose to view our blog. Enjoy. We sure got a good laugh!

What's this... a dress?

It's a rare occasion to see Sedona in a dress as she is such a hands-on roll in the dirt kind of gal. However, she had two rainy day birthday parties this weekend so it was the perfect chance to dress her up. She kept playing with her dress and tights and party shoes, exploring the newness of it all! Posted by Picasa

4 months pregnant

For those of you that like belly shots (i.e. Cousin Alison), here I am today at 4 months. We have our ultrasound in 2 days. I was on a solo mountain bike ride today and started to get very excited about the baby! Posted by Picasa

Say "Cheese"

That's an easy one for Sedona as cheese is one of her favourite foods. Actually, we haven't found a food yet that she doesn't like. She's sporting some new pants sent from Nan and Grandpa P.K. in Toronto here so we had to show them a picture as they won't get to see her in person. She is now getting her many grandparent's names figured out and when we put them on this morning she said "Nan" and what sounded like "Pancake." So, sorry dad, your new nickname might become "pancake!" She comes up with 3 or so new words a day- such an amazing stage of development!!!!!! Posted by Picasa

"Get Ready for some Music Runs"

Sedona loves her weekly Music Makers class where they sing, dance, play instruments and participate in a variety of musical games. This is a picture of when her instructor is playing the drum and saying "get ready for some music runs." As you can see, sedona has her full running feet in effect! Posted by Picasa

Sugar High

Yesterday Sedona went to her buddy Grayson's house to decorate Halloween cookies. Grayson did a good job of eating the icing right off the knife whereas Sedona's method was icing the cookies first and then licking it all off. They had a ball! Posted by Picasa
They look pretty good for an almost 2 and 3 year old decorating them! Posted by Picasa

Favourite Things

Some of Sedona's favourite things right now include: watching dump trucks and diggers (she constantly says "More dump trucks" as they go by), playing with play-dough, going in the bike trailer to look for horses and cows, babies (real or dolls and the one in my tummy which she kisses and rests her head on) and drawing pictures. Here she is watching one of the dump trucks go by our house. It will be a sad day for her when all the construction is done! Posted by Picasa

Whistler Weekend Getaway

Thanks to Chris' mom, we had a night away in Whistler with some friends. She took Sedona for the night and our friends Maude and Colin had a babysitter as well, so we got to go and have a night out on the town (after going for a beautiful walk). I'll have you know I was drinking hot cocoa while they all had their beers on this outdoor deck of the pub! Posted by Picasa
Chris informed us that in B.C., people don't gather up leaves and throw them in the air. Considering he was with three Easterners, we had to put him through the right of passage! Posted by Picasa

Mrs. Allen's Class

I took my class up to the Tetrahedron Range the other day for a big hike. They did great! Our final destination was Bachelor Lake in the background. This is as close as we get to the beauty of the fall colors back east! Posted by Picasa
