Another Ski Season

The girls had their second cross country ski lesson of the season today. We have had next to no snow in the mountains this year, but it's still enough to ski and sled. We have been lucky the last two weeks as we have been above the fog and it's been absolutely glorious! I got skate skiis at the end of last season so am finally getting to try them out, and oh boy, what a workout!! I think there is a steep learning curve, but noticed a difference even from last week to today. I love our Sundays in the mountains in the wintertime!

Sedona's 9th Birthday Party

We had a fun-filled 9th birthday party today! We chose a spa theme this year and as you can see by the sign, we had someone come and paint the girls nails. The girls also soaked their feet, had a homemade mask with cucumbers on their eyes and made homemade bath salts. We played "Name that Tune" courtesy of DJ Chris and the girls had fun guessing each others "embarrassing moments." For dinner, we had tacos, Margueritas and a sundae bar for desert. Sedona has lovely friends and it was a really fun night!

Christmas Morning

The girls never really write up a wishlist around Christmas or ask Santa for much, so it's always a bit of a surprise. Sedona mentioned she wanted a "Kindle" about 6 months ago, so we took note of that and got her one. Like Chris and I, she loves books, so this is a great choice for her! She was very excited. If you were to ask Aja what she would like, she would ask you in return, "I don't know. What do you think?" So, considering how much she loved Sedona's kayak last year, we decided to get her one too. Chris blindfolded her and put her in it and she was super excited! We had our most leisurely Chrismtas morning ever- stayed in our pajamas until noon!
