Pud Lake

Grandpa took Owen and Sedona up to a lake in the mountains last week when he picked them up from school. He is one fun grandpa!!! Sedona and Owen are in the same class at school this year too which is neat for them.

The girls have their own pet hamster now. They loved petsitting "Sheila" and did such a good job of taking care of her that Chris and I decided we were going to surprise them at Christmas with a hamster. Well, the day after we decided that, we had an opportunity to get a hamster and cage for free. This is the perfect pet- interesting, easy to feed and clean up after and easy to find someone to take care of it if we go away.

Last Camping Trip of the Season

A couple of girlfriends (Maude and Caroline) and I decided to do one more camping trip before school starts. We were planning on just going for one night, but it's so much work to pack up and fun once we get there that we decided to stay for a second night. We couldn't get the same spot both nights, so we had to carry our tent to our new site- the kids loved this! There were 6 kids (most of the time as Aja decided to go home with Chris both nights- that's the beauty of camping 10 minutes away) and they biked 75% of the time we were there. The older they get, the more relaxed it becomes as they just play together the entire time. It was a great way to end the summer!

A Great Find by Chris!

Chris brought a load up to the dump the other day. He often comes home with "treasures" from the Share Shed. This is like a little thrift store at the dump, but it's almost free. I have to admit, while Chris sometimes comes home with items that need more work, and were really destined for the dump in the first place, he came home with a real treasure the other day: a Japanese slot machine that works and came with it's own set of Japanese coins!!!!

We went to Thormanby again last weekend for Auntie Ann'd birthday. That is one glorious spot!
