School Carnival

Our school PAC always puts on an amazing school carnival every June, which the kids love. I was asked to do the "Pitch Burst" Water Balloon station- the kids love getting the teachers. The girls loved the hamster ball and the bungee run the most!

Wizard of Oz Play

Aja's class put on the play, "The Wizard of Oz." This was a big production! They practiced for about 6 weeks every day, did props, and then presented it to parents and the whole school. Aja had a big part as Glinda the Good Witch of the North. This was a big deal for her because she can be shy at times, and doesn't particularily love reading. We practiced a lot and she was FABULOUS!!!! I was so proud of her for doing it!

Track and Field Meet

Friday was our districts' Track and Field meet, which I coached and Sedona was in. It's such a great day-0 hundreds of elementary school kids join together for a fun filled day. Sedona is like her Mom.... a distance runner! She did really well in the 800 m run and her two relays.

From Tadpole to Frog

After only a few days, we now have frogs!

Dance Recital

Well, we made it through another dance weekend with 4 performances and a dress rehearsal on the weekend! I am alwys so amazed by the calibre of the show. It is always outstanding! The girls were in 2 classes each and these are their costumes. The theme was the "Circus."

Circus School

We had a local magician/retired circus performer come to our school for 2 weeks to teach the kids different tricks of the trade. At the end, the entire school put on a "circus" performance which was outstanding! The girls had a blast!

"Rare Species" Hunting

Aja is crazy for the natural world! Tonight, she told me she wanted to go hunting for some "rare species." We  found some interesting water bugs and a tonne of tadpoles! She was soooo excited!

Bike Race

Chris and I help organize a kids' mountain bike race every year, and it happened last night. We had over 50 kids riding some local trails, starting off with a fun ride all together, and then moving into races. Sedona won in her age category and had a great time. Because she already has one of these water hydration packs, that she won, she donated it (on her own free will) to a child who didn't have one- proud Mama here!

Girls' Weekend

Last weekend I went to Whistler with three girlfriends for our second annual Women's Fitness Conference. We had such a great time. It started off with an amzing 3 hour hike in Squamish up to an amazing view, where we then took the gondola down. Once we got to Whistler, we enjoyed  1 1/2 days of workshops, including dance classes, yoga, pilates, fitness, and meditation. We had two aweesome dinners out at 21 Steps and the Rimrock Cafe (one of the best meals all of us have ever had)!! 2 of us also went ziplining one day, which was great fun. We were up to 30 stories high, 2400 metres and long and 100 km/hour.... pretty cool! I even went upside down!
