Christmas Countdown

If you're looking for a way to count down to Christmas with your toddler, this is a cute one. Sedona made this Santa this morning and you put a cottonball on each day until Santa has a full beard at Christmas.

Mummified

Sedona asked us to wrap her up like a Mummy this morning with toilet paper. Unfortunately, she came unwrapped before i got a shot, but here's the not so scary Mummy Aja.

Aja on the Ice

Sedona wanted to go skating again today and Aja decided to come along this time. She didn't want to wear skates, but walked around the ice in her boots.

Gingerbead House Transformed

Sedona got the idea that the Christmas lights plugged in look like the decroations on the gingerbread house. So she took all the extra strings in our house and plugged them in downstairs to make a gingerbread house maze. So when you go down our stairs, you are greeted by the darkness lit up by the lights. The girls spent so much time there today just playing and relaxing.

Gingerbread House

Sedona worked hard on decorating the house while Aja worked hard on eating the candy and had to be removed from the scene!

November 26 Colours

A rare day off of work and family duties had me tromping around the backyard this AM for a quick photo-shoot. The purpose was to find some colour as the sun decided to make a rare November appearance. Common botanical names provided.

Purple Sage

Parsely and Nasturtium basket. A little protection from the elements and it continues to thrive.

Rosemary. This shrub has been 3 times. It has now found a happy place and is flowering in November.

Being at home all day I got to check out the birds that visit the yard on a daily basis. Much to our family's delight the Anna's hummingbirds returned to the yard a couple of weeks back. Of course the point and shoot Canon cannot do justice to these beauty birds. I was stoked to discover we have both a male and female visiting feeders. I got some great views of the male on the deck today. Green body and purple head backlit by the November rays was something really special.

Sedona can Skate!

Today Sedona and I went skating and she skated by herself without the bar for the first time. We only went a few times last year and she's been asking me to go lately. It's amazing the difference a year can make- she was so much more ready developmentally and maturity wise. It was very nice to have that one on one time with her too. Now that we are phasing Aja's nap out, I don't get as much "alone" time with her, so it's a special treat for both of us when it happens!

Could it Really Be?!?!

More Boxes Please Dad!!!!!!

You can do it Dad!

Yes, as crazy as it sounds, we got out all our Christmas stuff tonight. It was just as much fun for Sedona as opening Christmas presents! She ran around the house like a busy bee placing all the items. We figure we might as well get the most out of them and enjoy them as long as we can (much to Dad's chagrin I'm sure)!

A Night in the City

We were planning to go into Vancouver for the day, and then decided on a whim to go in the day before and spend the night at a hotel with the girls. (Thanks Nicki for the reccomendation for the Blue Horizon- it was because of you). Sedona got her haircut at this fancy haircutting place for kids where the chairs are vehichles, we went swimming at the hotel, walked along Robson Street at night which was so neat for the girls- Christmas lights up on the trees, tonnes of people watching opportunities, watching a live DJ outside HMV and out for sushi. Today we had brunch with some friends before coming home. (Elliott and Aja are just a few weeks apart). It's fun every now and then to just do something completely different from the norm.

Sunday night funnies

What does a family do when they are in the midst of wind/rainstorm #421 of the Fall? Troll youtube for funny vids of course. This one had me laughing and Sedona looking at me sideways wondering why I was laughing so hard. Enjoy the moonwalking ewoks!

I'm a Big Girl Now!

Aja's hair is finally long enough for a ponytail- just in time for the startup of preschool. She goes to Sedona's preschool twice a week now and then stays at her daycare for the third day. She loves it. She comes home and tells us all about what she did and who she played with. When I asked her the first couple of days who she sat beside during circle time, she said she sat on Sedona's lap!

Our Halloween Trade

We traded our candy for these cute matching dresses this year. Mom talked me out of shoes as I have about 12 pairs already! Aja, of course, just goes with the flow and would have anything!
