Sedona's First Job

Besides dogsitting, Sedona had her first job the other day. Our neighbour Ron asked her if she'd like to help him wash his car. Well, she did the entire car for him as he sat back and watched (she learned the fine art of washing cars from Chris)! Her payment: oatmeal cookies and a piece of gum- far better than any amount of money in her eyes! Gum is like gold around here.

Girls' Night Out

Tonight we went to the local Vietnemese restaurant for a girls' night out with two other women and their gals. The girls loved the food, company and the fish tank by our table was a big hit!

"My Special Girl"

Of course the girls have their moments, but for the most part, they get along so well. Sedona has been particularily loving and helpful with Aja as of late though. Today when Aja asked if she could wear her bikini, Sedona said "Of course she can. She's my special girl!" Melt my heart!

Ballerina

Sedona started ballet lessons today and looked so cute in her outfit! Parents can't watch the classes (we're only invited once at the end), so I didn't see her actually dance, but it was so adorable watching all the little 3/4 year old girls running into the room with excitement to start their new class! She knows 5 out of the 10 or so girls already so it will be lots of fun for her. I can't wait until I get to actually see them all prancing around in their matching outfits!

New Moon Festival

Sedona getting her name done in Chinese characters

Phillipino dancers/musicians

Today was one of those perfect days. The weather was beautiful and we started our day by going for a family bike ride to an abandoned tree to pick plums and then did our usual Farmer's Market visit. Chris and I got a babysitter so we could go out for a ride where we also came quite close to two bears. Then the 4 of us headed down to Gibsons for the New Moon festival- to celebrate Asian arts and heritage. It was a really neat event- amazing live music and dancing from different countries, crafts, lantern making (for the lantern festival tonight but we left before that), guest speakers, cooking demonstrations and yummy food- Thai, Indian and Chinese! We will definitely add that to one of our yearly events.

California Girl

Aja gets her hands on Sedona's bikini whenever she can. Of course, she always has to ask Sedona "please" first, and being the great big sister that she is, Sedona always says yes!

Diggers!

Sedona and Mom had a 3 hour date at the local gravel pit's open house on the weekend checking out all the machinery. Sedona particularily enjoyed the 45 minute bus ride tour (her first bus ride ever)! When she was younger, she used to want to be a dump truck driver, but she's changed her mind to a "laundry folder." Could it be watching the neverending amount of laundry I seem to do? Perhaps our next tour will be of a laundromat or dry cleaner.
