The girls and I had to go into Vancouver the other day for an orthodentist appointment. We decided to go to Science World that day as well. I was supposed to bring my class there a few weeks ago, but had to cancel due to the Teacher strike. What a great place! The girls had a ball! Sedona volunteered to go on stage at one of the shows too. On the way home, we went up to the "Bridge" on the ferry, to visit our friend Jim, who is the ferry captain, and the girls each got a turn to drive the boat!

Scotiabank Half Marathon
Erin and I did another half marathon in Vancouver this morning. It was a beautiful course along the water from UBC to Stanley Park. It seemed like a good idea when we finished our last Half Marathon in April, as we enjoyed the training and wanted to keep going. However, we didn't train as hard this time, so we definitely felt it more today! I'm glad we did it, but I am ready for a change. I haven't been running on the road in the last 4 years, and am ready to get back to the trails for a while- both biking, and running. The other night, Sedona asked me if I was nervous, and I told her, "Not really, because it's not about the actual race, but the journey to get there," and I really do mean that!
The Labrynth
There's a church near our house that has an outside painted "Labrynth." The first time I ever experienced one was last year when the girls and I went to Camp Fircom. The idea is that you meditate on one thought while walking through it. The girls love walking through this one, and were pretending to meditate at the end, although we really do meditate together once in a while.

Father's Day
We had a great Father's Day, celebrating Chris and the amazing father and husband that he is!! We had Chris' Dad and Karen over for brunch and I made this great recipe I found- baked French toast casserole with strawberries and rhubarb from the garden. So yummy! Then Chris and I took the girls geocaching and for a walk along the waterfront. With all the teaching uncertainty right now, it kind of feels like summer holidays have started.... I even had a quick power nap today... my body is telling me it's time to slow down! I hope we head back to work though for everyone's sake and that things get straightened out soon.
School Talent Show
Sedona and her firend Jeni made up a dance for the year end talent show- they were very well prepared!!

Year End Dance Show
The girls love this weekend! They get to do 4 performances throughout the weekend and are always asking when the next one is. Aja did 2 this year (Hip Hop and Modern/Jazz) and Sedona did 1 (Jazz)

Vietnemese Outfits
My Mom did a cruise on the China Sea. One of her stops was Vietnam, where she got these outfits. They are sooo cute!
Women's Fitness Conference
Last weekend, I went to a Women's Fitness Conference in Whistler with 3 girlfriends. We had so much fun- dinners out, dancing, and a great variety of workshops to choose from. I did these workshops over 1 1/2 days: Ugli Ball, Brazilian Dance, Caeporea (Brazilian dance/martial arts), cross fit, Vinyassa Yoga, Yoga for Athletes, Latin aerobics, Stand up Paddle Boarding and Burlesque dance. It was so much fun that we already signed up for next year!
Track and Field Meet
Last Friday was our big district Track and Field meet. I coach our school's team, and it's one of my favourite days of the school year. There are hundreds of kids from all over the district having fun! Sedona was old enough to join this year and loved it! We practiced twice a week at 8:00 a.m. and had 70 kids come out every morning! I see already that Sedona's strength is distance running. She did the 60 metre run, the relay team (pictured with her team who came in second), and the 800 metre run. In the 800 metre run, there were about 18 girls her age in the race, and she came in 3rd! Many stopped running within the first few minutes of the race, whereas Sedona had a steady pace the whole run, and felt strong all the way through. I was so proud watching her as a Mom and a coach!!! She was so proud too and gave me the biggest hug after. It was an awesome day!
