Trout Lake

We went to Trout Lake today where we paddled and swam. The girls also jumped off a log and some rocks. Aja loved being pulled along in her little tube all around the lake, and Sedona got to practice in a nice calm environment.

Sea Cucumber

Aja lives for the water, whether it's the lake, ocean or pool, so we have spent a lot of time outside this summer, in the water. Last week, she found this sea cucumber and was holding it before I took the picture, but it pooped on her, so she put it back in her bucket. She is with her friend Talus.

8 Years Strong!

Today was our 8th wedding anniversary. As per tradition, we spent the day together doing something outside as we always do on our anniversary. We went for a mountain bike ride, followed by a paddle and a swim in a nearby lake.... a lovely way to spend the afternoon with the man I LOVE!!!!

Road Trip

Chris, the girls and I just got back from 5 days down in Kennewick, Washington, visiting his aunt, uncle and cousins. We had such a great trip. It was about a 7 hour drive there, and it was HOT! Chris' family were amazing hosts and live in a lovely city. We really enjoyed our trip and visit with Chris' family!

Columbia River

Les and Gina took us out on their boat for the afternoon on the Columbia River. it was one of the highlights of our trip. The girls LOVED the tubing and kept asking to go faster. Chris and I also got to go waterskiing. What a way to spend the afternoon!

Wine Tasting

Chris and I were really lucky on this trip because his cousins Lauren and Emily spent quite a bit of time with the girls, so we got to get out and do some things too, like play tennis, go to a yoga class and do some wine tasting with his Aunt Gina and Uncle Les. We even got to try a $150 bottle of wine, which Gina and I agreed was the worst tasting wine out of the 13 we tried!

Swim Time

The girls, Aja in particular, lived in the pool while in Kennewick. It was so hot there, and such a treat to just lounge in the pool. The middle picture is Chris' cousin Emily.

Nothing like Family!!!

Canada's Wonderland

Sedona, my Mom and I went to Canada's Wonderland the other day. While we didn't do a tonne of rides (the roller coaster was our highlight- picture to come), the water park was a big hit! We don't have many pictures of this, but there were amazing waterslides, a wave pool etc. After Sedona and I had been in line for 45 minutes for a whitewater rafting ride, and were about 10 people from the front, there was an announcement the ride would be shut down due to weather. There was a huge dark cloud above us, and in 5 minutes, the skies just opened up. We ran to find cover and waited out the storm for 45 minutes under a canopy. It was crazy!!!! Toronto received the most amount of rain on record in such a short period (90 mm in 2 hours) since 1954, and that was during a hurricaine. The thunder and lightning was crazy! After witnessing this and trying to keep Sedona calm (that was her first thunderstorm really because we don't get them out here, and being outside even made me a little nervous!!!), we ran in the pouring rain to our car as the park shut down. It took us one hour just to get out of the parking lot, and a long time to get home. Chris later filled me in on the aftermath of the storm as he had been following it on Twitter, and there had been floods, highways shut down, subway stops closed due to floods, cars up to their roofs in water etc. Wow- what a day!

Dance Show

I am finally posting some pictures from the girls' dance show in June. Aja was in 1 dance and Sedona was in 3. The girls always love that weekend!

Visit with the Cousins

Sedona and I are in Toronto right now helping my Mom pack up as she is moving. We have also managed to have quite a bit of fun. Yesterday we went to my brother's families house and they hosted a BBQ with my cousins. It was so great to catch up with them all.
