Coast scenes #1

A beauty evening. August 2004. Bruce and I hiked up to the peak of mount Steele, deep within the Tetrehederon range. Nobody around except Bruce, myself and 10,000,000 mosquitoes. An over-nighter to remember.

Wild child!!

Just a usual dinner last night, until Sedona decided to tease her hair, with copious amounts of mashed potato and brocolli bits. She found all this quite amusing and was more than willing to ham it up for the camera.

Baby Owen is home

Not exactly hot off the press, but Sedona and the rest of us are pumped to have Owen, now known as O-man, back home. Lisa, Sedona, and I can't wait until we relocate back to West Sechelt to have a cousin and nephew so close to play with.

Good birding day

This morning the clouds, fog, and rain finally were blown away by a fierce northerly, and blue sky finally prevailed!Took a quic walk to Roberts Creek pier in my non-stop pursuit of all things birds. Did happen to spot a number of bald eagles, oystercatchers, and widgeons, however a real highlight was to discover two townsend warblers. What's so exciting about this is that townsend warblers are all supposed to be sunning it up in Mexico and Central America at the moment. In the last few weeks a number of TOWA have also been spotted on Vancouver Island, so perhaps this year they are taking their time. Either way, a nice find right outside the house.

Second pic here Posted by Picasa

Two pictures taken from Sedona's first halloween. She was dressed up as a lady bug with a costume that was half borrowed, half constructed by Lisa. The picture of Sedona and Katherine was taken at Music Makers, and the second pic was of Sed and I on the deck with our goulish pumpkin. Sadly our pumpkin was kidnapped by one of the various pranksters who transformed the quiet streets of Roberts Creek into a fireworks war zone on Halloween night. Posted by Picasa
