Our May Long Weekend

We dogsat our friends' dog, Sierra, this weekend. The girls would love to have a dog, and I would love a dog, but feel with both Chris and I working full time, it's not really fair. If I could be guaranteed to get a dog as well behaved and trained as Sierra, I would jump at it, but I know that's not likely the case.
My friend Anne-Marie also came for the weekend. She just finished writing the last of her medical exams to become a doctor, so it was a well deserved break for her! The girls and I took her on one of our favourite hikes, Smuggler's Cove, and then, we got a babysitter yesterday, so Chris, Anne-Marie and I could go for a ride. As you can see from the bike picture, we climbed really high yesterday! Anne-Marie and I have known each other for over 30 years- there's something very easy and comforting about being in the presence of such an old friend!

Father Daughter Dance

Chris took the girls to the yearly "Father Daughter" dance the other night. Half the fun is getting all dressed up!

Mother's Day Nails

I had a great Mother's Day! I got to go for a nice long run with a friend, followed by a few hours in the garden, and then the girls and I went to get our nails done. We had a lovely dinner, and as usual, Chris and the girls spoiled me!
